March: PAPERMAKING 2 days, $250

Saturday and Sunday 17th and 18th March, 9:30am to 4:00pm
An introduction to the ancient art of papermaking. The workshop includes the use of recycled material and cotton linter to form sheets of different thickness (for books, drawing, printing etc), and the use of hand made paper as an art medium in two and three dimensions.
May: PERSPEX 2 days, $250

Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th May, 9:30am to 4:00pm
Basic manipulation and construction with acrylic (Perspex) using sheets of various thicknesses.
Use of tools and equipment including cutting, drilling, sawing, engraving, gluing, cleaning and polishing. Participants will start by making a container then they will explore three-dimensional use of Perspex for sculpture and in conjunction with other materials and objects.
June: MAKE A PERSONAL JOURNAL 2 days $250

Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd June, 9:30am to 4:00pm
In this workshop we shall explore several book structures suitable for personal journals. These will include single and multi section books with soft and hard covers. Binding structures may include concertina, Coptic and sewing on tapes. Ways to treat and manipulate the pages will be considered.
Each participant will produce one or two highly individual personal journals.
June: COLLAGE AND PRINT 2 days $250

The aim of this workshop is to combine collage and mark making (with oil and water based media) on paper with printed images. The result would be a number of mixed media prints from engraved Perspex plates over a collaged, painted and/or drawn surface.
August: EXPLORE THE WORLD OF COLOUR 2 days, $250

Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th August, 9.30am to 4.00pm
A set of enjoyable, non-threatening exercises will introduce participants to a broad area of colour theory and practice, which is applicable to all media. Topics will include colour wheels, colour reaction, colour relationships, tone, the grey scale, tonal chords, transparency, mixing colour without mud, colour symbolism and psychology.
